On April 22, 2025, Matija Zlatar delivered a lecture at the University of Kragujevac titled “A Journey Through Coordination Chemistry: Understanding Metal–Ligand Bonds”. The event was held in the university’s Ceremonial Hall, organized by the Center for Scientific Research of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the University of Kragujevac, in collaboration with the Kragujevac Branch of the Serbian Chemical Society.

In his opening remarks, Academician Prof. Dr. Miloš Đuran, Director of the Center, introduced Matija’s scientific biography and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to present the latest research on molecular properties and their functional applications to the academic community in Kragujevac.

The lecture showcased results from TMMagCat project, focusing on the analysis of metal–ligand bonding in transition-metal complexes using density functional theory (DFT). Through selected examples, the audience explored how theoretical calculations can rationalize experimental findings and molecular properties relevant to catalysis and magnetism.

The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Biljana Petrović, Vice-Rector of the University of Kragujevac, alongside faculty members from the Faculty of Science and researchers from the Institute for Information Technologies.
